The 60-Second Commercial
Many people don't know how to deliver an effective introduction. But it's much easier to do than you think!

There are several types of 30-60 second commercials. There's the common "presales-pitch" commercial, the "single
and looking" commercial, the testimony at church, and of course the group setting where you introduce yourself to 20-
50 people knowing full well that you need to get everyone's attention even though everyone doesn't necessarily
need your particular service. While all of these are similar, there are also significant differences between them. What I
want to help you master is the group setting commercial.

Knowing what to say and how to say it during the 60-second commercial can be more pressure than you might
believe. Others choose to never master the 60 second commercial and use their time (and every one else’s)
inappropriately introducing their business for three or four minutes.

Here is a guide to successfully delivering a positive 30-60 second introductory commercial:
  1. Get their attention! Say something interesting or funny – but positive! about your business. Don't start by
saying your name, get their attention first so that when you introduce yourself you will have made a great
    impression!
  2. Carefully, if not slowly, say the name of your business, your name, what your key services are in one
sentence, who is your ideal client or target market. Close it by repeating your name slowly and the name of
    your company.
  3. Be excited and be LOUD enough to be hear clear across the room!
  4. Finally, Be respectful of the amount of time you get whether it's 60 seconds or 6 seconds - get your point
    across quickly!

Remember that practice will make you get better and also you don’t have to use the whole time if you don’t have
enough to say to fill the time. 60 seconds can be longer than you think!
