History, Vision, Mission
Christian Networking Group was founded in January 2006 by Lataya Ballard (now Ballard-Simpson). In the beginning, CNG facilitated one monthly luncheon that provided a Christian speaker whose focus was business education, the goal was that CNG would be a place where professionals of faith could network and learn, thus enabling them to grow and prosper in work and business. Unlike professional Christian fellowships that provided a midweek/midday Bible Study, the Christian Networking Group was designed to offer something different – Bible-based and ethical business information for people, regardless of faith, to connect with the people (through networking) and information (through our speakers) needed to go to the next level professionally and socially. Another goal is to encourage high standards of ethics in business using Bible based concepts to encourage the practice of Christianity not only in their personal lives but in business as well.

Recognition
CNG has been recognized by the Mayor of Houston, Bill White, with the proclamation that July 14, 2008 and July 27, 2009 are Christian Networking Group Day, along with being presented with Congressional recognition for the service we provide by Congressman Al Green. In the last three years, CNG has conducted over 40 events, hosted over 60 speakers and over 1,000 attendees combined in our various events. Over 1000 people have joined our live and online professional memberships and subscriber lists. Our vision and long term goal is to expand all over the country, hosting CNG events in every major metropolitan and every state in the United States, publish a business magazine, and become a comprehensive online resource. We will accomplish this through prayer, hard work, research and the support of members, sponsors and community alliances.
